If the water penetrates the stone quickly, it is very porous. If the water sits on top for longer, the stone is less porous. Though the majority of the oil will not seep into the granite, daily oil buffing can result in a pleasantly smooth and shiny granite surface over time. However, only polishes and polishing devices can help granite achieve a mirror-like shine. Once that shine is gone, you may need to hire a professional polisher to bring it back.

For example, if you’re hoping to seal a small outdoor section of granite, you’ll likely need a small amount of heavy-duty granite sealer. It can be a significant challenge to find a small amount of granite sealer, and this can make small projects tricky. This notion is especially true for anyone hoping to reduce their waste and use all of the sealer that they purchase. Just as you’d expect from such a hard-working granite sealer, this choice provides a penetrating barrier that can last for years. It’s also incredibly easy to apply to counters, especially thanks to the spray nozzle.

I had the exact same issue, I used a sealer the was recommended and the next day random pieces were highlighter yellow. The final conclusion was that the sealer had a reaction to the glue that is used with the mesh backing. I tried several things and nothing removed the stains. Luckily I had sealed prior to installing so I just had to remove or not use the sheets with multiple stained tiles. I had the same experience with customer service, they were not helpful at all. The stone will absorb some of the sealant, however, there is usually a bit of excess left on the surface.

The Milk Paint tung oil is sourced from China and is amber-toned. I noticed this brand has a lighter odor than others I have tried . I tried tung oil without thinning it and wiped off the excess. It worked just fine, but it may form too thick of a layer to be able to be touched up easily in the future. Just test it for color change if it’s a white or light cool toned stone.
